Harwood Park is owned by the City of Dallas and managed and maintained by Downtown Dallas Parks Conservancy. The park broke ground in late 2021, and opened to the public on September 23, 2023.

The park site was a collection of surface parking lots and vacant buildings in a historic district. Today, it is nearly 4-acres packed with park features including a mammoth playground, interactive water feature, a sport court for pickleball and basketball, 2 dog parks, and a striking gold ring pavilion at the Harwood and Jackson Street entrance.
